Sea Urchins are devastating our shallow water reef systems. Their sharp teeth and ferocious eating habits are stripping reefs bare of vegetation that entire ecosystems of marine life depend including species such as Abalone and Lobster.

Leaving nothing in their wake but an underwater desert void of any marine life, Sea Urchin require intense management due to the above, but also, because Sea Urchin hold a secret….

Inside these ferocious little Sea Weed feeders is the most intense flavoured and spectacular looking Sea Urchin roe!

SCSU have an extensive team of highly experienced divers from the Far South coast of NSW through to Mallacoota and Port Phillip Bay in Victoria. These divers selectively remove from the reef, then send to our team of dedicated and highly trained hand processors at our base in Pambula, whole live Sea Urchin daily, as long as the swell and wind permits!

The process team then split, pick and pack the Sea Urchin roe into our highly select grades of premium Uni or Kina products.

OZI UNI® is South Coast Sea Urchins award winning premium grade Sea Urchin roe.

Trophy winner of the 2016 Delicious Produce Awards ‘From the Sea’ category as judged by Australia’s top chefs, OZI UNI® is THE number one choice for Australian Sea Urchin roe demanded by Australia’s Hatted chefs.

South Coast Sea Urchin’s Kina is a result of the highly selective picking of the Uni that comes from each days processing. The Kina grade is equal in all aspects to that of Uni in terms of flavour, though the Kina has varying colour and shape.

The Kina comes packed in a tub filled with filtered and stable saltwater and is in high demand from chefs using it to create sauces and Sea Urchin butter, along with the Kiwi and Islander communities who enjoy eating Kina straight from the tub.

As of late 2022 South Coast Sea Urchin’s process factory in Pambula, NSW, is undergoing extensive and industry leading renovation, gearing up heavily for export….. Stay tuned!

The majestic Southern Bluefin Tuna has long been recognised as one of the most prized fish of all.

Perfectly wild and harvested from the cold, pristine waters of the southern ocean, it is renowned across the globe for its luxurious texture and flavour.

Until now, the bulk of these valuable fish have been exported from the shores of Port Lincoln, inside South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, to the luxury culinary market of Japan and beyond.

But the world is changing, and the fish market with it. While export opportunities fluctuate, consumers of premium products in turn are looking for more. Not only do they want local produce, but they are also searching for experiences. Ultra-premium products that reflect a sustainable provenance and unsurpassed nutritional value.

Recognising this shift, a new generation of Port Lincoln fishers saw the need to evolve, to diversify, and work together, not against each other, and a new brand of ultra-superior tuna products was born. Developed by family, supported by community, driven by excellence to bring the best Tuna in the world to Australian tables and other western markets.

KIN is here for the future, for generations to come and enjoy premium Australian Southern Bluefin Tuna.

KIN Tuna combines the widely recognised and progressive methods of three world-renowned and multigenerational Port Lincoln fishing families, the Blaslov Fishing Company, Dinko Tuna Farmers and the Stehr Group.

From humble beginnings, these families have created an industry intrinsically linked to the Port Lincoln community and the broader Australian Fishing Industry. They are one of the most sustainable tuna farming industries globally, with their processes recognised by science and industry alike.

Investing in industry and world class leading Tuna processing, storing and transit technology, KIN Tuna supply to market a premium, sashimi spec, sustainable Southern Bluefin Tuna 365 days a year.

Not only does KIN offer a steady supply of Super Frozen Tuna products, but due to their advanced super freezing technology, they can provide a consistent price. No longer will the market's peaks dictate whether or not Tuna will be on the menu!
